Born in Fukuoka City, Japan. Studied under Pedro Umemura, leader of Pedro &amp; Capricious. Later became a member of Pedro &amp; Caprichas and played with them until 2003.<br \/>In 2003, he went to Cuba to study Cuban music in earnest. While studying in Cuba, he studied under Antonio Martinez and Eliel Lazo.<br \/>In June 2005, he was officially invited by the Ministry of Culture to perform at CUBADISCO in Cuba.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>In 2008, he moved to the United States. In 2008, he moved to the U.S. and studied under Pedrito Martinez, an up-and-coming percussionist leading the current NY Latin scene.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>He has performed and recorded with various artists in Japan and abroad, and has released three CDs.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>As a member of \u00abJimmy Bosch y sexteto del otro mundo\u00bb led by Jimmy Bosch, a trombonist representing the New York salsa scene, he performed at the Salsa Festival in Singapore in 2014 and in Bangkok, Thailand in 2019. He was a member of the world tour of the international hit music documentary Buena Vista Social Club.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>He began his professional career in 1988 as a vocalist in a Cuban band called Conjunto Supremo. In 1994, he joined the famous Cuban band Jovenes Clasicos del Son as vocalist and guitarist, touring Spain, France, Italy, England, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, and Ireland to great acclaim. In 2001, Carlos released the album \u00ab&#8230;Dame un chance\u00bb on Bis Music. He has toured abroad, including performances at New York&#8217;s Lincoln Center, as well as in France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, and other European countries. She has been making music in a wide range of genres such as salsa, merengue, bolero, son, bachata, reggae, Latin pop, etc. with many musicians in order to always convey the real music. Her sweet voice, which resonates from her whole body, attracts many people.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-60\" src=\"https:\/\/jacupelg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Walter-204x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"204\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jacupelg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Walter-204x300.png 204w, https:\/\/jacupelg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Walter-697x1024.png 697w, https:\/\/jacupelg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Walter.png 734w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 204px) 100vw, 204px\" \/><img class=\"\" \/>Walter Riva<\/h3>\r\n<p>As a musician, he made his professional debut at the age of 13 in Lima, Peru.\u3000As the first step of his debut, he became a member of ORQUESTA CAMAGUEY, known as the most famous salsa orchestra in Peru at that time.\u3000He was then invited to join ORQUESTA LA NOVEL, where his talent as a musician was recognized and he was appointed orchestra director, a role he held for eight years, until 1997, when he composed his own music, NINA.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u3000After that, he temporarily stopped working with the orchestra and devoted himself to composing music.\u3000However, in 1999, he was approached by his debut orchestra, ORQUESTA CAMAGUEY, where he gained more experience and participated in concerts in various places in rural Peru, and in 2003, he was recognized for a tour of Japan, where he performed numerous gigs within one month!
